FESTIBEC AFRO-BLACK WEB TV

Jean Baptiste Nyabyenda founded FESTIBEC Afro-Black Web TV in Montreal in 2020 after facing challenges in pursuing a media career. The platform was established to amplify the voices of Afro-Black Canadians and share their stories. In January 2023, it received official non-profit status from the Quebec Government. FESTIBEC aims to promote black representation in media by creating authentic and diverse narratives from the Afro-Black community in Quebec and Canada.

FESTIBEC is committed to producing educational and informative content that represents Afro and black immigrant communities in Canada, focusing on highlighting artists and issues relevant to the community without resorting to gossip. By reshaping the representation of black voices in music, film, and news, FESTIBEC promotes volunteerism and plans to establish an Audiovisual Animation Center to support content creation, aspiring to make a global impact through media.
