At the dawn of the 2023 season, the enthusiasm and expectations surrounding CF Montréal continue to grow. Longtime supporters, artists, and simple football enthusiasts have expressed their hopes, concerns, and unwavering love for the club.
During a friendly gathering marked by the presence of several figures from Montréal’s cultural scene, the testimonies of the fans highlighted a mix of realism and optimism.
“This year, we see a lot of young local players, developed at the club, and that’s truly a beautiful thing,” emphasized artist and producer King Ken, a passionate football fan. “Of course, there’s a lack of experience that can be felt on the pitch, but once the team plays in front of its public, at the stadium, I’m convinced they will find their rhythm.”
Another supporter, who has been encouraging the club for nine years, stressed the importance of the bond between the team and its fans: “Tonight, I had the chance to meet the coach and take some photos. It was a wonderful moment. Long live CF Montréal!”
While the atmosphere remains positive, some observers nevertheless point out the challenges that lie ahead. “The team absolutely needs to improve offensively. Last season, we missed too many chances at crucial moments,” regretted a fan. “This year, we must score when it’s necessary.”
Others, while admitting a complicated start to the season – three games without scoring a goal – remain confident. “I trust my guys, and I know the coach will put the right things in place. On Saturday, in front of the Olympic Stadium crowd, it will be a real boost.”
Despite the doubts, the prevailing feeling remains one of unshakable faith in the club. “I am a proud supporter of CF Montréal, and I want to see them win, why not both cups, the Canadian one and the league,” a fan affirmed with conviction.
For others, the essential point is to support this transition phase: “We are in reconstruction, but we must believe in it.”
Between promising youth, the need for offensive realism, and popular fervor, the 2023 season promises to be full of challenges for CF Montréal. But one thing is clear: the supporters, in victory as in adversity, will always be “straight ahead.”
