In a match filled with tension, controversy, and determination, Victor reflected on what he described as a “much-needed victory” for his side. Coming off a tough game against Philadelphia, the midfielder acknowledged both the physical battle on the pitch and the mental edge required to grind out three crucial points.

“Against Philly, it’s always a fight,” Victor said. “Today we were ready for that, and in the end, we’re glad we took the maximum points.”

One of the game’s decisive moments came through a VAR intervention. Initially, a goal was in question, but with persistence from the bench and players on the field, the decision was overturned in their favor.

“We had to push because there was a player on the line, right on the post, and VAR wasn’t picking it up,” Victor explained. “Our bench was following everything with the technology, and they alerted us. I went to the fourth official to ask for a review, and in the end, the referee made the right decision.”

Victor credited the coaching staff’s quick reactions, noting how vital their input was in ensuring the correct call was made.

Reflecting on the broader significance of the win, Victor suggested that the result could mark a turning point in the team’s season.

“We were looking for that win,” he said. “Even a draw wasn’t enough at home. We fought to the end because we knew we had to show character, and we’re glad it brought us three points. The fighting spirit is still within the team.”

The performance, he added, showed a renewed mentality reminiscent of previous seasons when the team regularly clawed back points in dramatic fashion.

Victor also highlighted the impact of Ofour, who delivered a crucial goal and added a new dimension to the attack.

“Ofour brings a different style of play. He beat up the defense, created openings, and gave us exactly what we needed. He’s an important player, and today he showed he can deliver when it matters.”

He was equally supportive of younger midfield partners, who were tasked with stepping up in a demanding match.

“It’s always tough with new partnerships,” Victor admitted. “But today the young players showed real character. Even when they lost the ball, they stepped up again. They’re hungry to improve, and with time, they will be very good players.”

For Victor, the win was about more than just three points—it was about setting the tone for the rest of the season.

“This was a big game,” he concluded. “We needed to fight, we needed to show resilience, and we did. Now it’s about carrying that mentality forward.”
