ENTREPRENDRE ICI Des programmes gratuits pour les entrepreneurs de la diversité ethnoculturelle

Since 2018, the organization Entreprendre Ici has been supporting entrepreneurs from ethnocultural diversity in Quebec on their path to business success. Backed by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy, it stands out for its personalized approach, concrete programs, and a clear objective: to promote the sustainability of businesses created by immigrants or people from diverse cultural communities.

“My role is to be in direct contact with entrepreneurs,” explains Hamissou, entrepreneurship advisor at Entreprendre Ici.

Welcomed in person, by phone, or virtually, project leaders benefit from attentive listening and guidance tailored to their needs. The support covers every stage: from ideation to startup, including growth.

Each entrepreneur is guided toward the right resources in the Quebec ecosystem, and regular follow-up is ensured to maximize chances of success. “We want projects to last, to create value, and to contribute positively to the Quebec economy,” emphasizes Ms. Hamissou.

Entreprendre Ici offers several flagship initiatives:

Avantage Program: More than 70 experts in marketing, accounting, taxation, finance, business plan development, or law provide workshops and individualized support. These services are free for referred entrepreneurs.

Telemedicine Program: In partnership with Telus Health, it allows entrepreneurs and their employees to access medical consultations for only $8 per month.

Financial Literacy Program for Women: Developed with the École des entrepreneurs du Québec and Scotiabank, it aims to strengthen the financial skills of women entrepreneurs, who make up nearly 53% of Entreprendre Ici’s clientele.

Honor Grant: Worth $25,000, this annual grant is aimed at entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds in the pre-startup, startup, or growth phase. Applications for the current edition close on August 21, and the winners will be announced on November 14, 2023.

Since its creation, the organization has distributed $2.5 million in honor grants. More than 6,323 entrepreneurs have been reached, and 3,128 have received personalized support. In addition, 3,800 referrals to partner organizations have been made, demonstrating the strength of the network established.

Beyond the numbers, Hamissou stresses the importance of entrepreneurship as a driver of integration and economic contribution:

“I invite all entrepreneurs from ethnocultural diversity who want to go into business to come meet us. We are here for them, free of charge, with no time limits, with concrete programs that can truly make a difference.”

With tangible results and a clear vision, Entreprendre Ici positions itself as a key player in Quebec’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, paving the way for a new generation of entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.
