Montreal, May 14, 2025 – FESTIBEC AFRO-BLACK WEB TV is proud to announce that it is among the 161 organizations across Canada that have received financial support as part of the second edition of the Black Ideas Grant program, offered by the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC). This support is part of a large-scale national initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-mandated (B3) organizations through a total funding amount of $9.5 million.
A non-profit organization based in Montreal and Longueuil, FESTIBEC AFRO-BLACK WEB TV works to uplift Afro-Black communities through the creation of impactful media. Its commitment to cultural representation, social inclusion, and intercultural dialogue is reflected in the production of community talk shows, documentaries, event coverage, as well as media training initiatives aimed at youth, women, and seniors.
“This funding represents much more than financial support: it is a significant recognition of our mission and our impact within local Black communities. Thanks to the support of the FFBC, we will be able to expand our reach, strengthen our production activities, and offer more learning and development opportunities,” emphasized the management of FESTIBEC.
The Foundation for Black Communities expressed deep appreciation for all the organizations that submitted their applications. “FFBC would like to thank all applicants for their continued efforts. It is truly inspiring to witness the outstanding work carried out by community members across the country. The Foundation remains firmly committed to the sustainable support of Canada’s Black communities,” reads their official statement.
Through this collaboration, FESTIBEC strengthens its role as an essential resource for amplifying underrepresented voices, contributing to visibility, advocacy, and community cohesion. Working with partners such as the FFBC is a key lever for achieving collective goals of equitable representation and social justice.
