In a powerful and deeply personal address, Larry Raskin delivered an impassioned message on leadership, perseverance, and the unwavering belief in one’s own value. Speaking before an audience of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, Raskin shared both professional insights and life-changing personal experiences that underscored the importance of resilience, faith, and consistency.
Central to his message was the idea of “selling out to the system”—embracing proven methods and duplicating them with discipline and commitment. “Consistency of effort over an extended period of time will give you the confidence in knowing it’s only a matter of time,” Raskin emphasized. Whether success arrives quickly or more slowly, he argued, the key is patience, persistence, and the willingness to stay the course.
Raskin drew on his own journey, recounting the challenges that tested his resilience. After building a massive organization and overseeing millions of customers, he faced a life-altering health crisis in the year 2000 when he required five stents in his heart. The diagnosis forced him to step back from his fast-paced role in the field.
“I could no longer run at the level that I was running,” he explained. “But I just knew God had something in store for me.” Rather than ending his career, the challenge redirected him into a new path—training and developing future leaders. The transition, he said, was a blessing, allowing him to focus on what he does best: communicating vision and equipping others to succeed.
Beyond business strategy, Raskin’s words carried a powerful personal affirmation. “You matter. Don’t let anybody ever tell you that you don’t,” he declared. Urging listeners to reclaim ownership of their narratives, he added, “From this day forward, you are the author, the director, and the president of your life. Period.”
The message was not only motivational but deeply practical. By reminding the audience that each person carries unique value—“You are an answer looking for a problem”—he reinforced the idea that purpose is both personal and essential. His advice was simple yet profound: move forward step by step, remain consistent, and never underestimate the impact of personal stories.
Raskin also addressed the generational stakes of leadership, noting that children are closely observing how adults respond to an increasingly complex and confusing world. In his words: “Our kids are watching us… You can do anything you want to do, be anybody you want to be, have anything you want to have. Declare it and proclaim it—and then do it.”
Reflecting on his long connection to Canada, Raskin expressed his admiration for the energy and ambition of emerging leaders in Quebec and beyond. While he acknowledged he could not personally know everyone, he made it clear that his mission is to support the next generation of leadership rising through the ranks.
“I want to help you live the life that you dream about, hope about, stay up at night thinking about, praying about,” he said. “And just know that the only person that can stop that from happening is you.”
With an eye toward the future, Raskin pledged his ongoing commitment to mentoring leaders across Canada, the United States, and around the globe. His parting words carried both inspiration and challenge: “Don’t let anything stop you.”
