Longueuil: A Day of Sport and Community Spirit with Nathilien Joseph

Sport, recognition and togetherness were at the heart of an activity organized on August 16, 2026, by MNA Nathilien Joseph. Bringing together citizens from different backgrounds, the day featured a soccer match, a medal ceremony and special recognition of community work.

On the field, the Carrefour and Senegalese teams played a match that engaged participants. At the end of the game, medals were presented to the winners by MNA Nathilien Joseph and Municipal Councillor Ren Bomb Allra. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to recognize the efforts of all the players.

Present to support the event, the MNA highlighted the quality of the participants. “Our players are high-calibre players,” he said, while clarifying that their level was not necessarily limited to the international stage. He also thanked the players and Patrick Alico, who helped bring the teams together.

Emmanuel Camille, captain and president of the Carrefour team, also spoke to introduce his team and acknowledge the public’s participation. The match was also an opportunity to present an individual distinction to Kenny, named player of the match, amid applause from the participants.

Recognition for Community Engagement

The day also included the presentation of an honour plaque to the MNA by the Réseau des femmes dynamiques. The recognition aimed to highlight his commitment to the community and his support for promoting women’s empowerment.

Upon receiving the distinction, Nathilien Joseph thanked the organizers and recalled the importance of their contribution. “Without women, we men would not exist,” he said, before praising the work being done to advance this cause.

Diversity as a Collective Strength

Beyond the sporting competition, the activity was intended as a space for citizens to meet. Participants from different backgrounds shared their appreciation of the day, including a visitor who had come from Paris to discover Longueuil with her family.

“I came from Paris especially to see the MNA. I’m visiting with my family. I’m discovering Longueuil through this barbecue. Very nice atmosphere,” she said.

Asked about the objectives of the event, Nathilien Joseph explained that it was a community barbecue open to everyone, regardless of political beliefs, race, religion or political affiliation.

“Diversity is not an obstacle to overcome, but it is also a strength,” he emphasized. In his view, this strength must continue to be reinforced, particularly in Longueuil, in order to promote togetherness.

The MNA also highlighted the role of public institutions in developing sport and social cohesion. He thanked the City of Longueuil, Municipal Councillor Ren Bomb Allra, as well as the dignitaries present, including Mayor Catherine Fournier, for their contribution to the organization of the activity.

A Message of Unity

Satisfied with how the day unfolded, Nathilien Joseph reaffirmed his commitment to continuing initiatives that encourage citizens to come together.

“We are a strength, we are diversity,” he declared, recalling that togetherness is an essential issue for the community.
