A new cultural event is emerging: Afromusée en Scène, an initiative that aims to serve both as a showcase for emerging artists, a meeting place for music lovers, and a space for exchange among professionals in the music industry.
Each event features a 30- to 40-minute musical performance, offering a complete and intimate experience. The idea is to create a setting where artists, the public, and industry players come together to share, network, and build lasting connections.
“Too often, the talents we receive at the Afromusée remain confined. With Afromusée en Scène, we want to open this space and provide a professional recording to highlight the work of the artists,” explain the organizers.
Although Afrobeat plays an important role, the event refuses to be restricted to any single label. Gospel, urban music, Afro-Caribbean influences, or hybrid creations: all musical expressions have their place.
“We are not looking to create a ghetto, but rather a place of light open to all music lovers,” insists the team.
The event also responds to a crucial need: giving greater visibility to Francophone artists. While the Anglophone market is already highly developed, the Francophone scene remains underexploited. “It is essential to create a platform where Francophone artists can thrive while staying connected internationally,” the organization emphasizes.
Admission is set at $25, with advance purchase recommended to avoid sold-out evenings. The initiative is supported by Canadian Heritage, as well as music industry partners such as MA Production, Glorious Music, and the Requeur platform, which specializes in connecting creators with cultural industries.
The launch will take place on Sunday, September 7 at 5 p.m. at the Afromusée, featuring a performance by Wise Atangana. The following dates are already on the calendar:
September 21: Azaf from Créer au Féminin
September 28: surprise artist (to be confirmed)
October 5: Sound Système, renowned for its spectacular sound performances
Every Sunday, the public is invited to discover new talents in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
With Afromusée en Scène, a new stage opens for artists and audiences, placing diversity and creativity at the heart of the experience. “It’s a winning moment for everyone: artists, music lovers, and the industry,” conclude the organizers.
