During the IDEE Gala, Christopher Skeete, the Minister Delegate for the Economy in the Government of Quebec, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting Afro-descendant entrepreneurs and combating racism through economic empowerment.

“This is a fantastic and essential event to highlight Quebec’s Afro-descendant entrepreneurs,” said the minister, visibly proud to take part in this celebration of economic diversity.

Skeete, who also oversees the fight against racism, emphasized the central role of the economy in promoting inclusion. “The economy allows us to fight racism because we can include everyone in Quebec’s economy,” he noted.

The minister praised the work of the organizers and the determination of the participants, whom he considers key players in Quebec’s socioeconomic development. According to him, initiatives like the Idé Gala demonstrate the vitality of the Afro-descendant community and its contribution to collective prosperity.

“When we give voice and visibility to entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, all of Quebec benefits. Events like this remind us that economic growth should not only be measured in numbers but also in equity and inclusion,” added Skeete.

The minister also took the opportunity to congratulate the award winners for their contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship. He reiterated the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the participation of all in Quebec’s economy, particularly through programs focused on mentorship, funding, and awareness.

“Total pride to be here. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you again for the invitation. It’s a pleasure to support and stand by you,” concluded Christopher Skeete, expressing his enthusiasm for the next edition of the IDEE Gala.
