The day was highlighted by the enthusiasm of a participant who, smiling from ear to ear, shared how he had won the Tekken tournament. Proud of his performance, he described a victory that “felt really good,” one he celebrated with friends over a few beers. It was a personal achievement, but also a reflection of an event that brought together fans, competitors, and curious newcomers in a shared universe.

Among the activities offered, the virtual reality experience caught the attention of many visitors. One attendee spoke about the intensity he felt during a virtual boxing match, a simulation he described as “immersive to the point of pushing his energy to the maximum.” For him, VR is not just a form of entertainment: it represents an accessible tool to encourage physical health and well-being. He encouraged anyone who has never tried it to give themselves a chance to be surprised, emphasizing the value of a fun activity that also contributes to daily fitness.

The event also owed its success to the involvement and support of the FJC group, a longtime partner of the Canadian championships related to video games. This collaboration made it possible to offer a space where competition, technological discovery, and the showcasing of emerging talent could come together.

At the heart of the gathering was the Planète A project, led for several years by Moussa Coulibaly and his team. Conceived as a contest designed to bring together young people and adults around video games, it also opens the door to other creative worlds. Participants can explore the world of manga, discover companies specializing in immersive technologies, and admire projects focused on cultural innovation.

The initiative, born in the same location about five years ago, marked a true return “home.” The museum hosting it — a space committed to community life and the promotion of creative industries — expressed particular pride in welcoming an event that brings together a new generation of artists, creators, and players.

Beyond the competitive aspect, the gathering highlighted the rapid evolution of the creative sector, where video games, visual arts, technological innovation, and popular culture intersect. For the organizers, the goal remains clear: to offer a space of sharing that inspires, creates opportunities, and elevates the talents of today and tomorrow.
