Montreal – The African Center of Montreal vibrated this past weekend during the official launch of the fourth edition of the Festival of Happiness of Montreal, an initiative carried by the organization Montreal Happier. The event, marked by music, dance, and inspiring encounters, brought together people of all ages and origins in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Among the participants, Haitian-born entrepreneur Condé, who has been living in Montreal for several years, emphasized the importance of this gathering:
“We experienced a very beautiful show with artists from several nationalities. It was an extraordinary activity that allowed us to fraternize and discover other cultures,” he said, expressing his gratitude to his friend Emmanuel Brice, co-host of the evening.
For his part, Emmanuel Brice said he was honored to have taken part in this celebration:
“It was a major event that highlights joy in Montreal, an inclusive city where happiness was shared today. I leave with my heart full of gratitude.”
The launch also showcased young emerging talents. Maé Rabaissa, 19, a singer and student at Champlain College, captivated the audience with her songs filled with hope and love.
“Montreal Happier is a concept that should be even more popular. This event allowed me to share my songs and spread a little more happiness,” she said.
The festivities continued with Bollywood dance performances, as well as an Indigenous musical performance by Kawi, offering the audience an eclectic and unifying program.
Sana Bou Sanou, co-founder of Montreal Happier, recalled the philosophy that has guided the festival since its creation in 2019:
“Our mission is inclusive and sustainable happiness. We want every person, regardless of age or origin, to feel involved and celebrated.”
The organization also announced a series of upcoming activities as part of the festival:
an immersive exhibition on August 18,
a Ruelle of Happiness on August 29 in the Hochelaga neighborhood,
and an afternoon cinema in partnership with Oticônes to close the program.
Participants, like Guadalupe, a guest attending for the first time, unanimously praised the quality of the event:
“It was magnificent. If you ever have the chance to participate in an activity of Montreal Happier, don’t hesitate: it’s really worth it.”
With dedicated happiness ambassadors and a loyal audience, the Festival of Happiness of Montreal is now establishing itself as an essential gathering in Montreal’s cultural and community life.
