Abel P., president of the Ivorian community in Canada and of the African community in the country, spoke on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Vues d’Afrique, praising the event for highlighting Côte d’Ivoire and promoting African cultural diversity.

“We are extremely proud that our country is being honored in this way,” said Abel P., recalling the Ivorian community’s constant commitment to proudly raise the national flag and actively participate in cultural initiatives. He also expressed his gratitude to all participants and contributors who made this celebration possible, particularly his vice president and the entire federation team, who worked tirelessly to support the event.

The president emphasized the major role of Vues d’Afrique in developing African cinema and promoting the continent’s diverse cultures. “Forty years is not just forty days, but forty years of effort, perseverance, and investment to showcase African cinema and show the world the richness of our stories and talents,” he said.

Abel P. also highlighted the importance of community engagement in cultural promotion. “At our level, the Ivorian community has always worked to honor our country through various initiatives. This anniversary is an opportunity to remind everyone that when it comes to Côte d’Ivoire, we must all roll up our sleeves and contribute actively,” he stressed.

The event was described as a moment of sharing and celebration, bringing together multiple generations around African culture and cinema. Abel P. noted that such events not only strengthen bonds within the diaspora but also showcase African creativity and talent to an international audience.

The evening ended in an atmosphere of collective satisfaction and pride. “We all leave happy and inspired by what we witnessed tonight. We wish to once again congratulate Vues d’Afrique for its exceptional work, its ongoing commitment to African cinema, and all the initiatives that help bring our communities together and showcase Africa in all its diversity,” concluded Abel P.
