Montreal – Having a passion and the desire to become an entrepreneur in Quebec now finds a powerful ally: the Réseau d’Intervention en Développement Économique (RIDE). This innovative program is aimed primarily at young entrepreneurs from the Black community, offering them support, guidance, and resources to bring their projects to life.
RIDE is not limited to a training program. It defines itself as a true gateway to success, built on three essential pillars: personalized support, specialized training, and the promotion of innovation. Thanks to this model, many young project leaders find the tools they need to transform an idea into a viable and sustainable business.
“RIDE is truly intended for the Black youth of Quebec. The goal is to give them the confidence and the necessary means to build their entrepreneurial future,” emphasized a project manager.
The experience of several beneficiaries illustrates the concrete impact of the program. One of them, originally from Kinshasa, shared her journey: “When I was still in Congo, I began creating artistic paintings using raffia. This natural material represents an important part of our cultural identity. Upon arriving in Quebec, I wanted to pursue this dream, but I didn’t know where to start. It was when I discovered Shafik’s offices that I learned about the RIDE project.”
Through this network, she was able to develop her entrepreneurial project around raffia, combining artistic creativity and cultural promotion. “RIDE allowed me to highlight the culture of my country, share my ideas, and give art a place in entrepreneurship. It’s an opportunity that transformed me,” she said.
Beyond technical support, RIDE stands out for its human and community dimension. Young entrepreneurs there find not only practical training but also a network of mutual aid where everyone shares experiences, challenges, and successes.
“Don’t stay isolated. Here, there is support, coaching, training, and above all, a space where innovation is encouraged,” the participant insisted. “It’s not just professional support, it’s a community that believes in your dreams and helps you achieve them.”
The role of RIDE goes beyond the simple creation of businesses. By giving young entrepreneurs the tools to succeed, the program helps to energize the local economy while promoting cultural identities. The projects carried by participants reflect a wealth of backgrounds and visions, ranging from art and culture to new technologies, as well as services and social innovation.
According to its founders, this initiative responds to a real need: creating an inclusive space where talents from diverse backgrounds can emerge and thrive.
RIDE’s message is clear: every young Black entrepreneur living in Quebec can join this network and benefit from its support. “Sign up, show yourself, don’t stay all alone in your corner,” the program urges in its call to the community.
