Montreal – In the competitive world of cosmetics, a Montreal entrepreneur has chosen to carve her own path, combining authenticity, innovation, and social commitment. Sofia Hassani, founder of Les soins de Ménéa, has turned her personal story into a true mission: offering natural products, respectful of both health and the environment, designed for sensitive skin across the entire family.

The Ménéa journey was born from a deeply personal experience. At only two months old, Sofia’s son suffered from severe skin problems – extremely dry, irritated, and fragile skin. Faced with this challenge, the young mother was shocked to discover the presence of toxic substances, sometimes even carcinogenic, in products supposedly intended for babies. “It was a shock,” she recalls. “How can such ingredients be found in skincare products for infants?”

Driven by her background in industrial chemistry, she undertook in-depth research and collaborated with cosmetology experts to design safe and effective formulas. More than sixty tests with volunteer families helped refine the products before they were launched on the market.

The Les soins de Ménéa line stands out for its composition: apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, orange blossom and rose floral waters, as well as Aloe Vera, known for its regenerating properties. All products are biodegradable, harmless to wildlife and the environment. “Our skincare respects both the health of the user and that of the planet,” says Sofia.

The entrepreneur also emphasizes the social dimension of her project. Shea butter, for example, is directly sourced from a women’s cooperative in Burkina Faso. This collaboration enabled the group to establish a dispensary that provides basic healthcare to their families—a source of pride also shared by the founder.

Like any emerging business, Ménéa had to overcome many challenges. Sofia Hassani did not have an entrepreneurial background, but she knew how to surround herself with support. “I reached out to specialized organizations, such as Groupe 3737, which guided me with training programs and incubation initiatives. This ecosystem allowed me to solidify my business plan,” she explains.

For her, the message is clear: “We don’t have all the answers within ourselves. We must know how to ask for help and rely on available resources. In Quebec, there is an incredible ecosystem to support entrepreneurs.”

Today, Les soins de Ménéa has established itself as a local, natural, and inclusive brand, dedicated to babies, children, and adults. Balancing respect for health, positive environmental impact, and international solidarity, this young company perfectly illustrates how a personal challenge can become a collective solution.
